The Temblors

Band Bio

The Temblors are an Indy-Americana band hailing from the CA North Bay Area made up of experienced players with styles and prior band experience ranging from Cosmic Country to Punk to Indy to Dream Pop. Male/Female harmonies take center stage in our approach, along with vibrato guitar, the chime of the mandolin, all backed by a solid rhythm section.

Band members include Dan Silverstein (vocals/guitar), Jess Gallagher (vocals), David Torgersen (lead guitar/mandolin), Ken Finn (bass), and Dan Ransford (drums).

We are excited to share our take of the dreamy California sun- baked and moon- soaked soundscape on our new release, Western Skies Two, as well as our previous Western Skies EP, available on most platforms: https://thetemblors.hearnow.com

The songs were written by Dan Silverstein and Jess Gallagher. Western Skies Two was recorded and mixed by Jamie Bridges and produced with Jamie and the band at Room With A View Studios in Petaluma, CA (late 2023 - early 2024). Our Western Skies EP was recorded and produced by David Torgersen at his home studio in San Rafael, CA  over 2021-2022.

More about the band:

Dan Silverstein (vocals, guitar)(AKA Dan Silver/Aldo Silver) began his music journey in his teens as a founding member of the Philly based late 80’s underground trio, The Darrows, releasing 2 albums and running up and down the East Coast opening for bands like They Might Be Giants, The Church, The Tom Tom Club, Living Color, and The Pogues. After relocating to the SF Bay Area, he partnered for many years with Jeff Davis of The Balancing Act (IRS Records) in the bands Niagara and L’Avventura, where they released 3 albums and a single which landed on the HBO series True Blood.

Jess Gallagher (vocals) (AKA Jessica Grace) was originally a member of Uber-Pop vocalists Jezebelle, signed to Discovery-Warner Records, San Francisco based band Stara Nova, and core of the musical duo known as Well Adjusted People, and she has performed at countless festivals and clubs including the Filmore and the Montreux Jazz Festival. Her songwriting and vocal style are highly emotive, and, at the same time, down-to-earth and honest.

David Torgersen (guitar/mandolin) is a lifelong Audio Producer/Engineer who’s created soundtracks for a wide variety of mediums. He’s played in a bunch of bands, the most recent being The Economen, a Minutemen Tribute band, where he channeled the spirit & energy of the great D Boon, regularly playing 20 songs in 40 minutes.

Dan Ransford (drums) has been playing in a multitude of bands throughout the bay area for many years now. Some highlights include performing at the Hardly Strictly festival in San Francisco, opening for Albert Lee, the Blasters, and It's a Beautiful Day. While still keeping up a full performance schedule, in 2000 Dan started to cultivate his studio skills recording drum kit and percussion in numerous recording album projects, videos, demos, spanning a variety of music styles. Dan can count over 50 CD projects he has contributed his skills and style to.  Dan is the house percussionist at Studio E recording studio in Sebastopol. Dan has shared the studio with Nina Gerber, David LaFlame, David Grissman, Jim Hurst, and Missy Raines.

Ken Finn (bass guitar) loves music and is thrilled to return to performing after a long hiatus. Throughout the 80's, Finn played in various Bay Area bands - most notably, the legendary Marin-based Bohemians as well contributing to a range of musical projects including pub-rock & international folk combos, recording session work, and his own musical exploits.
